Pictured:: the organ in the
Grote or St Catherine church in Nijkerk was painted white from 1883 to 1937. It was then stripped and the case restored to its original European oak lustre.
Voxus sampleset here. I grew up in Nijkerk, and as a youngster the organist of St Catherine's often let me play when the church service was done; the Nijkerk organ was my first proud experience on a "real" pipe organ.
From an early age I developed a keen appreciation of the world's exquisite organ repertoire with a clear 'first love' for Papa Bach and other Baroque composers. I'm very much an amateur in terms of my executive keyboard skills, but have served in several Dutch protestant churches (e.g. Nijkerk, Ermelo, Ede) as a serving organist. I have been a Hauptwerk user since December 2018; now the magnificence of sampled computer organs once more serves my passion for organ music!
