"O Jesulein süß, o Jesulein mild,
dein‘s Vaters Will‘n hast du erfüllt.
Bist kommen aus dem Himmelreich,
uns armen Menschen worden gleich,
o Jesulein süß, o Jesulein mild."
I played this charming chorale trio movement with an intime 4' registration: the famous christmas lullaby melody appears as a discant in the pedal, the left hand presents the bass line, the right hand plays an agile and dancing counterpoint.
Original piece title: "O Heiliger Geist"
Melody and text appeared in the Leipzig 'Schemelli Hymnbook' in 1736. The tune appeared in Cologne 1623; the lyricist is unknown.
