Description:
„Sietze de Vries (* 1973) is organist of the Martinikerk in Groningen and Artistic Director of the Groningen Organ Education Centre which promotes the collection of historic organs in the Groningen province from its base at the Petruskerk in Leens“ (http://www.sietzedevries.nl).
He is famous worldwide as an organist, lecturer and gifted improviser.

In December 2019, I was very happy when Sietze answered my request for a little christmas improvisation to "In dulci jubilo" with a fabulous four-movement partita in the baroque style, which he kindly allowed me to transcribe and replay:

A three-part Siciliano pastoral music with bagpipes sounds (bassoon) and
Rossignol is followed by a quatuor (four-part movement) with bass-cantus firmus. The third variation, a true pastoral with tenor melody is followed by an festive aria with a colored discant voice, which increases to five-part by introducing a second plain tune voice.

My pdf-transcription is attached for download:

The little notes are my complements, when I was not too shure of what I heard about the original details. I also changed the sequence of the pieces. You can listen to the original improvisations on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YowoWA39Ao

Hope you enjoy this nice new variations "In dulci jubilo" of Sietze de Vries (NL).
