Noël Angevin (L'Organiste)

These three pieces come Franck's pieces in G Major and G Minor from L'Organiste. The entire seven pieces are for Christmas time but I decided to play only the two pieces labelled Noel Angevin, with the linking quasi lento in between.

The sortie at the end of the seven pieces is a variation of all the previous pieces together and I will attempt to record that separately, though this gives a similar effect.

The organ has no expression pedal and I couldn't be bothered with attempting to change registrations so there is no endless variation of volume as you would expect in a Franck piece.

Noel Angevin uses a tune from the Anjou region of France.
