With 8va I mean that the melody in the right hand is played with Fagot 16, Bourdon 16 with Quint 6 and 3; thus sounding an octave lower than normal;
the 2nd manual has the Oboe with Quint 3 and Gedakt 8, as well coupled to Man. III's Harmonia eathera for a little edge sharpness (I know hardly audible).
Later on more stops are added to quite full with Posaun 16 as well, and at some point I return to the original stop setup.
The overall tone is somewhat somber, but it's just reflective of the winter weather, with grey skies, rain and snow and coldness. It's good to be warm indoors. The 16' tones thus also indicate this warm lazy, cozy and pensive atmosphere.
