| Description: | Rolande Falcinelli was a student of Marcel Dupre, and succeeded him as organ professor at the Paris Conservatoire. She was a pioneer composer for the organ, searching for new techniques and greater virtuosity. She wrote several hours of organ music, much of it remains unknown to most organists.
This piece is entitled "Épure" (blueprint, restrained drawing), and it is comprised of 3 different moods - Tutti crashing chords, contrasting with 16,8,4 fonds over a Trompete melody in the pedals, a trio section with contrasting flue and mutation sounds. Not for the faint of heart. |
