A little over a week ago I published the score of an anonymous choral prelude to the choral Wo soll ich fliehen hin (see here: https://partitura.org/index.php/anonymus-wo-soll-ich-fliehen-hin/). As the composition is left incomplete in the manuscript I transcribed it from, I completed the piece by composing 5 or 6 bars myself. The manuscript contains a number of choral preludes from Bach's Orgelbüchlein and a few choral preludes by the hand of Kirnberger, that were clearly written in hommage to or inspired by Bach's Orgelbüchlein. After completing the prelude to "Wo soll ich fliehen hin" I decided to do the same and I set myself the task of writing a choral prelude in 'Orgelbüchlein-like' style. I choose the melody of "Vater unser im Himmelreich" and the result is today's upload.
