A nice romantic setting of this famous Chorale (and 4 variations) by J.C.H. Rinck.
Played on the Annaberg instrument, maybe a bit to (?) romantic for Rinck, but also very suitable.
Some added reverb to create a more surround sound.
- Choral (
0:00), starting on soft strings and some crescendo on the softer 8' foundations
- Var. 1 (
01:24), played on a mezzoforte registration
- Var. 2 (
02:41), a bicinium with the solo part on (alternating) the Oboe of Man. II and the Vox humana of Man. III, accompanied by soft foundations
- Var. 3 (
03:57) played on a forte registration
- Var. 4 (
05:15) the final chorale building up to a tutti registration
Enjoy!
PS: my next upload will be another recording of this piece, played on the Aristide sample set … because it sounds so impressive. Also nice to compare these performances, I think.
