Daniel Ficarri has recently been touring the UK and is "named one of the top twenty under 30 organists by The Diapason magazine. He is Associate Director of Music & Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, NYC and a composer of organ, choral, and chamber music." I came across his own recording of this engaging piece at Liverpool Cathedral on YouTube.
The Great Trumpet and Imperial Trumpet (at the end) combine brilliantly with the full organ sounds at Blackburn. The central section makes use of the wonderful strings with octaves. The final tutti is explosive!
