Vidas Pinkevičius (b. 1976) — King Solomon’s Fanfare, op. 156 (2022) for organ
Vidas Pinkevičius (b. 1976) is a Lithuanian organist, improviser, and teacher. He was educated at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius (BM and MM), Eastern Michigan University (MM), and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (DMA). His primary teachers include Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra, Quentin Faulkner, and George Ritchie. His doctoral dissertation was on improvisation of keyboard preludes in the style of J. S. Bach. Pinkevičius has been active as an organ recitalist throughout Europe and also appears in an organ duet with his wife Aušra Motūzaitė-Pinkevičienė. He teaches organ at Vilnius University and previously taught music theory at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art. Pinkevičius is also the creator and host of the “Secrets of Organ Playing” podcast and online teaching course.
