Sietze de Vries is a Dutch organist and known for his ingenious improvisations. Joachim Scheufele-Leidig transcribed some of his improvisations and makes those nice editions available. Joachim compiled a partita with many variations on 'Jesu, meine Freude' transcribed from many published improvisations by Sietze. This chorale trio is one of those variations, but of course an independent piece on its own.
The score indicates a 4' registration on the manuals and a 2' as c.f. in the pedal, just as Sietze does it in his improvisation. However, it's also perfectly possible to play on the manuals on an 8' basis and use a 4' pedal registration. Because of the balance between the divisions of the Dreifaltigkeits organ I choose to play with both hands on one manual (the positiv).
