This is my first recording of the Masconi organ of Alessandria from Piotr Grabowski, which I just acquired last week.
Selections here include the three great Bach preludes on 'Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland' (BWV559-561) and a wonderful piece by Virgil Thomson, 'Pastorale on a Christmas Plainsong' (Divinum Mysterium). These I offered last night for my home church's service of Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols; this recording was made this evening.
As mentioned this is my first recording on this sampleset, and also first ever not on the Laurenskerk sampleset. But -- suffice to say this set has exceeded every expectation of enjoyment! The balance here is predominately the rear channels (100 rear /74 front), which I selected because it mirrors the sound of St. Philips Cathedral here in Atlanta. In fact, in spite of any misgivings of my own playing, I can close my eyes and hear the same works as played last week for it's own Advent Lessons and Carols service.
And, so I offer this upload to demonstrate the wonderful sampleset -- and perhaps less recorded -- from Piotr that I am absolutely enjoying, which can be found here:

The Thomson work I am playing from a now out-of-print 'Contemporary Masterworks for Organ' published by H.W. Gray. I see a used copy is available on Amazon (
