Composer: Bach, J. S.
Sample Producer: Piotr Grabowski
Sample Set: Schuke (1977), Erfurt, Predigerkirche
Software: Hauptwerk VII
Genre: Baroque
Description:
This fine organ transcription of the final chorale of Cantata BWV 22 is recorded on the latest sample set by Piotr Grabowski, which will be published on this Saturday, November 5. It's a model of the Schuke organ (1977) of the Predigerkirche, Erfurt, Germany. Although a relatively new organ, the beautiful organ case was built in the baroque period. Some great organists/composers were active in the Predigerkirche: Johann Bach (uncle of JSB), Pachelbel, Buttstett, Kittel (a Bach student) etcetera.

Before the release of this set a small teaser to get a taste of what this organ sounds like and how it sounds in the room. I recorded this piece before on another organ in a slower tempo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6egFFD3ddxY
This time I went for a faster tempo, which has a charm of its own, I think.
