Chaconne in F Minor Uploaded by: In_Christo_Gaudium Composer: Pachelbel, Johann Organ: SVPO - St. Ouen Rouen Cavaille-Coll Composite Software: Hauptwerk IV Views: 96
One of the most sublime and evocative works of the Baroque period, Pachelbel's Chaconne in F minor is based upon the Andalusian Tetrachord and explores the capabilities of the ostinato in a masterful form, not to be overshadowed by the distant cousin works by Bach.
In this recording, I attempt to bring forth the nuances of the musical parlance of this work by making use of all the resources of the organ, from the most nostalgic Celestes and singing Flutes, even to Grand Tutti (with a hint of a 64' resultant, too).
This approach was inspired by my first organ tutor Mr. C. P. of Athens, who in turn stated that he modelled his registration for this work after a vinyl recording from Weingarten (I would very much like to know how such registration changes were handled on that immense mechanical beast!)
