Interesting piece from about 1790. Don't know anything about the composer.

The piece is based on the hymn written by Martin Luther in 1524 and is used on Christmas day.

Translates as:

Let us praise you, Jesus Christ,
that you were born today
by a virgin, that is [certainly] true,
this is why all the heavenly hosts are happy.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
