Software: | Hauptwerk IV |
Genre: | Romantic |
Description: | Jacques-Nicolas (Jaak-Nicolaas) Lemmens (3 January 1823 – 30 January 1881)
Belgian organist, teacher and composer. Received training in the supposed ways of Bach by Fetis and Hesse and in turn was sent pupils by Cavaille-Coll such as Widor and Guilmant to learn this tradition. His recitals in France left listeners stunned particularly his pedal work.
His most famous work is probably his Fanfare. Here we have a set of six works for manuals from his 1862 École d'Orgue. There are slight hints that you are in the romantic era but the baroque influence is definitely heard. The score can be found here: https://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ReverseLookup/130899
1. Prelude - Plein Jeu
2. Prelude - Plein Jeu ( 1:39)
3. Offertoire ( 3:04)
4. Prelude - Plein Jeu ( 4:51)
5. Elevation - Jeux Doux ( 6:46)
6. Elevation - Jeux Doux ( 8:06)
We also happen to share a birthday I see... different years obviously!
Hope you enjoy.
