Jean-Joseph Mouret (11 April 1682 in Avignon – 22 December 1738)

French Baroque composer. This piece comes from his first suite of symphonies. It has always been one of my favourite pieces even before I was into French organ music.

This starts with solo trumpet of the Grand organ against a suitable left hand registration on the recit and positif before going to full solo trumpets and then the following sections on recit and positif before ending with a full organ sound but without the large bombardes of the manuals.
