Toccata (Plymouth Suite)

Today (1st May 2021) marks 75 years since the death of Percy Whitlock at the age of just 42. As a tribute, I have recorded the Toccata from the Plymouth Suite, which is one of my favourite works of his. I hope you enjoy it!

A note about the registration: For the first entry of the right hand melody, I used the Swell Horn and for the second entry I used the Great Trompete (on the Great i.e. unchanged). As Armley lacks a high pressure reed, I used the Great Trompete again for the final entry, except this time I used the Choir transmission of it, which I have revoiced to sound a bit more like a Tuba.
