| Description: | The organ works by Denis Bédard (* 1950), music director at the Holy Rosary Cathedral
in Vancouver (Canada), are formally comprehensible, originally and appealing. His 'In dulci jubilo'-variations are based on the English tune form.
A powerful fanfare is followed by a choral movement in a jazz-affine harmonization, which is joined by a lively, quasi-baroque trio. An ethereal, mystical minor meditation is followed by a dynamically increasing, accentuated dance movement, finally by a majestic chorale (alternating melody in treble and bass). The piece ends with mighty chords in full organ sound. |
