Glory to Thee, my God, this night Uploaded by: yolar Composer: Beeftink, Johan Organ: Laurenskerk - Transept Organ - 1959 Marcussen & Son Software: Hauptwerk V Views: 293
Traditional carol arranged by David Willcocks. One of the worst to sing I found when I was a bass singer - a lot of constant E notes then it goes all around the place.
Usually has several verses, four is enough for my back. One of the most controversial carols mainly due to the first line - how many commas should the first line have, where should they be placed, what does it exactly mean, should it be 'ye', is it sexist etc. etc. Not interested in all that.
Hope you enjoy
John
I think this will conclude my carols on Strassburg. There are a couple of other common carols - 'Ding Dong Merrily on High' and 'Angels From The Realms of Glory', but they are the worst two to attempt with back problems due to the pedal work! Might do Cantique Noel at some point to finish it off though, we'll see.
