This is the first movement of a trio sonata composed for two violins and cello with possible harpsichord continuo. This piece is often considered to be by Pergolesi however, it is more likely that it was composed by Domenico Gallo who lived at the same time. Although it is an interesting exercise to transcribe it to organ and it is slightly tricky to play, that is not the reason that I have done the transcription and performance. The real reason is that the piece is better known as forming the first movement of Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite.
I'm not altogether happy with the results of this version either in playing or registration and I have the feeling that it will sound better on a different instrument. My playing is down to the fact that I am still relatively unfamiliar with the piece and thus things aren't quite as neat as they could be.
