Description:
I've owned this very versatile sample set since it came out three or so years ago yet looking through my recordings on here and my computer amazingly I've only ever done one with it!

About this time 15 years ago I decided to learn to play organ - I learned rudimentary keyboard skills as a child and the guitar (I couldn't read bass clef at all and barely treble clef to add to the fun of learning organ!). I took one of my dad's organ CD's and the first track was this played by St Alban's Cathedral organist Peter Hurford. I was hooked and found out my dad had the sheet music in his vast collection of mostly Bach. Taking 'photocopying is illegal' literally ... I sat and copied it out on notation paper. It was one of the first pieces which I could play with the pedals on the organ. This was the launchpad to teach myself organ and proper music reading skills, and within 4 months I had played my first service for my church, 'taking over' the seat my dad had held for 15 years as he left for missionary work abroad.

Here you hear a variety of sounds this organ can make. The Great Chamade is the solo stop - it sounds too quiet and weak to me 'out of the box' so I might play around with it - against a standard 8,4,2 chorus on the Positiv with the box shut, alternates with a 8,4,2, Kornett, Plein Jeu on the Swell with the box open. It then finishes on full everything with 32 foot and 16 foot Chamade in the pedals.

I must say that this is a beautiful sample set and so varied and cannot believe I've never recorded more with it, I guess my love for Caen was too deep seated at the time. All the reed stops on this organ are beautiful!

Hope you enjoy.

John
