This has been one of my favorite program pieces for many years to add for Holy Week programs or during Good Friday or Three Hour Prayer services.

I really don't know much about the work itself, nor have I heard other recordings. And there are really no markings on the score for intention. So, this is just my feel for it pretty much as I've always played it. I hope it's somewhat on point -- but I think the tone and tonality is really beautiful.

I play this primarily on the manuals just adding pedal for either extension or to add weight to the music. I have coupled Sw/Ped and added 16' flute on pedal, plus 32' on the final chord progression.

As it may be unfamiliar to some, I hope it's enjoyed and I recommend the collection itself, too-
