Herbert Peter (1926–2010) — Praeludium (in d) (1964) for organ
German composer and church musician Herbert Peter (1926–2010) was educated in Weimar and held positions in Bad Berka and Eisenach. From 1950–88 he was on the faculty of the Thuringian Church Music School, serving from 1961–88 as its director. From 1961–91, Peter was the Landeskirchenmusikdirektor for Thuringia while also serving as the music director at the Georgenkirche in Eisenach. In 1992 he retired to Witzenhausen. Peter composed music in various genres, including instrumental, choral, orchestral music, along with several oratorios.
