Prelude and Fugue in D Major Uploaded by: Camber Composer: Buxtehude, Dieterich Organ: Kampen, Bovenkerk Hinsz/F.C. Schnitger Software: Hauptwerk IV Views: 353
At last we reach the final piece in the Husumer Orgelbuch, this Concerto in D Major by an unknown composer.
The first movement is an Allegro movement following the familiar structure of ritornellos alternating with short solo passages.
This recording includes two slow movements. The first one is the original one, and is an Adagio in B Minor. The second one is an alternative slow movement that was added later in 1788 by Benedix Friedrich Zinck beginning in G Minor but ending in D Major.
The final movement is an Allegro movement in 3/4 time in D Major.
For those of you who have been listening to this series from the start - I hope you've enjoyed this trip through the Husumer Orgelbuch with me. I found this volume fascinating and a joy to play through.
