Description: | Another recording of this composition - just when I started uploading I noticed that FredM has also uploaded one, recorded on the Utrecht sample set.
The song is from the Dutch poet Rheinvis Feith (1753-1824). It is often sung on New Years eve and I hope to play the piece in a few moments in our church service for the evening. The text of the first verse is melancholic, even menacing, and emphasizes how hours, days, months and years are passing by, while our responsibility remains. I tried to capture this mood in the music.
The registration of FredM is closer to what the componist suggests, I tried something different.
