The beautiful timeless melody is by Wim Mennes (1917-1996). The harmonization preceding the choral prelude is by Wim also.
Wim Mennes studied organ with Anton van der Horst and was organist of the Roman Catholic Church in Heerenveen.
The choral prelude is by Detlef Krüger (* 1948).
He wrote a really beautiful intimate old style prelude that does full justice to the beautiful melody.
Detlef Krüger studied Choir and Orchestra conducting with Simon C. Jansen in Amsterdam. He worked (among other things) as a conductor for the Scapino Dance Academy in Amsterdam.
The words are by Ad den Besten (1923-2015), one of Hollands leading contemporary poets.
He wrote many excellent hymn textst for the 1973 Dutch hymnal and most of them also appear in the 2013 revision.
