I decided that I was in reasonable shape with my sciatica to try a longer piece.
Two and a half years ago, while off work suffering from back problems I had little else to do but listen to music. Over the course of two weeks I listened to Widor's Toccata and followed the score committing it to memory. It is a piece I never thought I'd be able to play - when I was young (21) my back was injured and it seemed beyond me to stretch past top D on the pedalboard - I struggled in a carol service playing The First Nowell. It was a wonderful feeling when I could finally play Widor's Toccata. So it might take you many years to finally complete learning a piece, but whatever your situation, I believe anyone can play beautiful music, and good can come out of bad situations.
Yes I stumble in a couple of places but hope you enjoy.
