Composer: Langlais, Jean
Sample Producer: Milan Digital Audio
Sample Set: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel E.M. Skinner
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Modern
Description:
Here we have another prelude from the French organist Jean Langalis. This comes from his 'Organ Book' published in the USA in 1957. It contains 10 pieces, including the famous Pasticcio, which ends the book.

The pieces are moderately easy and not as characteristic of Langlais' style as other works. The registrations also require more European/American stops - such as Stopped Diapason and Gemshorn. An indication he was shifting his style due to his recent American tours, or perhaps merely broadening his appeal? However, despite this, and the fact that there is no key signature, every note seems to be an accidental of some sort, so he hasn't totally departed from his modal writing.

I ignored the registration requirements for this piece, not least because the Skinner organ doesn't have a Gemshorn or Stopped Diapason.

Swell: Salicional, Rohrflote, Flauto Dolce, Flute Celeste, Voix Celeste
Great: Harmonic Flute + Swell
Pedal: Bourdon, Gedackt + Swell

Hope you enjoy.
