Pierre Segond (1913–2000) — Toccata per l’elevazione per l’organo (1980)
Pierre Segond (1913–2000) was a Swiss organist. He began his education at the Geneva Conservatory and completed his studies at the Paris Conservatory (with Marcel Dupré) where he achieved a First Prize in 1939. He was a classmate of Jehan Alain, Jeanne Demessieux, and Marie-Louise Girod. Segond was organist of the Cathedral of St. Pierre in Geneva for 52 years (from 1942 to 1994).
