Description: | It's more than a month ago I posted the last piece in the series of choral preludes by Johann Balthasar Kehl. So, it's time for a new one.
In this chorale prelude Kehl shows again his ability to create pieces that are unlike any other he wrote before. One can only admire the great variation in spirit and atmosphere in al his pieces. “Gelobet seist du Jesu Christ” inspired Kehl to an almost Haydnesque piece full of joyous triplets. Despite its lightheartedness I felt the piece needed some weight, so I use the Praestant 16′ in the registration.
Registration
HW: Praestant 16′, Octaaf 8′, Octaaf 4′, Quintpraestant 3′, Woudfluit 2′, Oboe 8′
RW: Praestant 8′, Octaaf 4′, Superoctaaf 2′
