“Taufmusik” [Christening Music] was composed in 1959 for the Christening of composer Siegfried Thiele’s daughter Uta-Marie.

German composer Johannes Weyrauch (1897–1977) was educated at the Leipzig Conservatory with Sigfrid Karg-Elert. During his career he was active in music publishing, church music, and served as professor of composition and theory at the Leipzig Conservatory. He composed many works in numerous genres, including orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal music.
