To compare the different Rear and Front settings of the Steinkirchen set, I recorded this small choral prelude 4 times. Two times in Plenum and two times with the sesquialter as solo voice.
The settings for each recording were:
1st: Front 100 – Rear 0 Lots of presence.
2nd Front 0 – Rear 100 More spacious
effect.
to get the maximum of difference.
The choice netween the two depend for a great deal upon the piece being played.
A good overall setting (for me) is Front 40 and Rear 60, but that is a personal choice and may vary from piece to piece also.
Anyhow: it can give you an idea of the possibilities of this wonderful set.
HW: Principal 8', Octav 4', Sesquilater
Bru: Gedact 8', Rohrfl 4'
Ped: Principal 16', Octav 8'
