In this movement you can find ideas from the Allegro moderato and from the Solemn March: especially a free paraphrase of the Choral in the 2nd. theme and a reflection of the March in the Coda.
Otto Dienel (1839-1905) was organist at the Marienkirche Berlin, Alexanderplatz.
The Joachim-Wagner-organ from 1722 was rebuilt in 1893 by Schlag & Söhne.
He played there 869 organ recitals which included always works of J. S. Bach.
One of Dienel‘s pupils was Karl Straube.
The most of Dienel‘s organ works were published in Great Britain. They had a high level of quality. But Dienel‘s contomporaries said: »Fine, but influended to much by the English taste ...« - it was the worst which one could sayn the time of the German »Kaiser«-period.
