HAUPTWERK GLITCH

Dear All,

I'm experiencing occasional, short pops/clicks rather like very short crackles of static which are only present when actually playing; these are manifest on both the speakers and headphones, so it doesn't seem to be a monitoring problem. My computer seems to be functioning smoothly, so I can only imagine that the problem is with the sound card or plugs/connections.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, please!

Many thanks,

Maurice Maguire.

When you have a Windows-PC with enough RAM, try the following:

Disable the page file.
Disable Sysmain.

For me crackling is gone since then.

I read your answer because I too had the same problem so I disabled the paging file and solved the crackling problem Thanks for your suggestion . Greetings Tony

Hi. I have this problem. Thought it to be a loose audio connection.
Can you maybe put more meat on these bones for a non-techy?
Thanks!

Disable page file:
Go into the control panel (the old one, not the windows settings) and choose "System". The new settings are opening. On the right column choose "advanced system settings". A further window pops up, there choose "advanced". On the upper field "performance" click on "settings". On the further window click on "advanced" and there in the lower field you can modify the virtual ram, called page file. Click on "no page file". After a restart the changes are applied.

Disable sysmain:
Click in the search box beside the start knob on the desktop and type in "services". Click on the app or type Enter. Search for "SysMain" and open it with a double click. As starting type choose "deactivated". Then make a restart.

I hope my words are matching, I have windows with german language and don't know the exact english terms.
