Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750): “Herzlich tut mich verlangen” (I desire sincerly) Chorale Prelude BWV 727 and Chorale No. 21 from the “371 Harmonized Chorales and 69 Chorale Melodies”, with the theme of longing for a blessed end. The music is attributed to Hans Leo Haßler, and the text to Christoph Knoll. Today, the music is better known as the famous Passion chorale set to the text “O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden” (O Head, bloody and wounded).
