Died: November 27, 1912 - Ballenstedt, Germany
Number 1 EG 299 Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir
Number 2 EG 342 Es ist das Heil uns kommen her
Number 3 EG 328 Dir, dir, o Höchster, will ich singen
The term EG numbers in relation to August Reinhard's harmonium arrangements likely refers to Edition Gebethner, a specific series of published sheet music from the Polish firm Gebethner & Wolff.
These may be from the set 24 Choralvorspiele für Orgel oder Harmonium zum gottesdienstlichen Gebrauch Op. 51
Or The "Caecilia" Collection of 253 Choralvorspiele
The German composer and author of a Harmoniumschule, August Reinhard, got his early cultural influences at the court of the Duke of Anhalt-Bernburg at Schloss Ballenstedt
and later dedicated himself to music for the harmonium which he saw as a keyboard instrument able to produce expressive orchestral music. In 1901 he was appointed the professor h.c.
On a visit to Desden he played for the first time on a Druckwind harmonium, of which he became an expert. He gave special attention to the technical training of the harmonium playing, which he regarded as substantially different from the piano or organ playing.
Major Harmonium Arrangements by Composer
Reinhard's arrangements of other masters include
