This piece needs no introduction - so I won't bore you with facts you already know!
I have heard many interpretations over the years, but I was actually inspired to learn this piece, by WillF's fantastic performance on the Eule organ of the Mercator Hall Duisburg. I basically tried to imitate his 'one great, smooth wave of sound' approach, which worked so well!
https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/63038 As I tend to play more Early music than Romantic, this was a bit of an interesting project getting round the great stretches and using French legato pedalling - if it goes down well with my collegaues hear I might venture to learn some more great Romantic works! We'll see! I hope you enjoy! |
