Sei Fioretti op. 60 No 2

Sei Fioretti (1932) : a set of six pieces inspired by the 'Fioretti' of St. Francis Of Assisi, to whom Tournemire had a deep devotion.
No 2 depicts St. Francis temporarily blind, to whom God asks if the discovery of a treasure would fill him with joy. Francis deems himself unworthy, but God replies: "Rejoice, for it is the treasure I have reserved for you."
This piece is dedicated to his student Jean Langlais, who himself was blind.
