Fiducit - an affirmation, something like ‘so be it’.
Was used repeatedly in the student fraternity. This is also the case in this song.
The melody is by August Wilhelm Briesewitz, who lived from 1810 to 1876, the lyrics by a certain Salomon from 1834.
