My wife gave me the idea: "Why don't you do something nice with this song by Abba? The result is something that is certainly not commonplace.
These repeated notes in the melody resulted in a striking counterpoint, which I would perhaps describe with the following image: we are sitting in the car and driving. It starts to rain and constant drops (=repetitions of sound) patter on the windscreen and are directed upwards by the headwind as if pulled by a string. It is the forces of nature that pave the way for a fugue (even over a simple motif). The fugue is in 4 voices and sounds best on a piano forte. It is quite modulatory, and inversion, lengthening and shortening are not to be missed .....
As already mentioned, the melody was composed by the two ABBA gentlemen Benny Anderson and Björn Ulvaeus in 2020.
Little things,, and that's what this song is about, are the little things in everyday life that make us feel good. An attention, a compliment, a smile - a nice piece of music and maybe also a recommendation, these are all little things that make me happy too .....
