[ENGLISH TRANSLATION]
1. This is the day that is so joyous for all creatures,
for God's Son from heaven
is miraculously born of a Virgin.
Mary, you were chosen to be mother.
What wondrous thing has happened?
God's Son from heaven has been born man.

2. A little child so praiseworthy has been born for us
by a chaste virgin to comfort us poor people.
If this child had not been born for us,
we would have been completely lost.
This salvation is for all people.
Oh sweet Jesus Christ who was born in human form:
Save us from hell.

3. A great miracle soon happened as Scripture tells us:
An angel came down from heaven
to the shepherds in the field.
A great light surrounded them.
The angel of God proclaimed the news,
That in the city of Bethlehem a virgin had given birth
to one who would be the savior of all.

4. The shepherds became full of joy
because they received comfort.
Everyone who wanted to see the child went to Bethlehem.
They found the child swaddled in a manger
in accordance to what the angel had told them.
All together they fell down and worshipped God
who had given them such grace from the kingdom of heaven.
