Final” was written in 1931 as part of a group of “Seven Pieces” all of moderate length. This is the rousing conclusion of the set.

Marcel Dupré lived from 1886 until 1971 and became known as a respected composer for organ and as a virtuoso performer.

He became famous for performing more than 2000 organ recitals throughout Australia, the United States, Canada and Europe, which included a series of 10 concerts of the complete works of Bach in 1920 and 1921 entirely from memory.
