Hans Leo Hassler has left us many wonderful vocal compositions. I've sung many of them. Especially his motet on 'Vater unser' is a great example of the transition from the renaissance to the baroque period.
It was a surprise to find some organ works of him. This piece is meant as introduction to the congregational singing, I think. So I thought it would be nice to add the original chorale setting (also by Hassler) after the intonation.
I couldn't ignore the note 'Mit dem vollen Werke'. I imagined a big crowd in the church, so I think a big plenum on the Engler-instrument will do the job.
