Composer: Sowerby, Leo
Sample Producer: Milan Digital Audio
Sample Set: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel E.M. Skinner
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Modern
Description:
The organ music of Leo Sowerby might be compared to a very dry martini in this aspect: perhaps it is an acquired taste. It’s certainly easier to acclimate to it with the lush sounds of an E. M. Skinner organ as the vehicle. How about this tonal palette: Flute Celeste, Viole Celeste, Gamba Celeste, Clarinet, French Horn and Harmonic Flute. And of course, full strings at 16’, 8’ and 4’ are also displayed.

I even created a “Viola Pomposa like” Diapason Celeste, by reducing the volume of the First and Second Open Diapasons on the Great and detuning the Second. One could potentially be sonically transported away by all of that celestial splendor. :)
