The refrain answers the questions which each verse asks. It talks about several events in the life of the Lord Jesus, starting from birth through his death and resurrection reigning in heaven.

As is common with songs of this time, it can be described as a 'jolly ditty'. It is quite catchy and simple tune.

The piece builds up, starting with the Swell's quietest stops, before hearing the Solo flutes, then continuing building up through the Swell, Great and ending with Full organ.

Hope you enjoy.
John
