However, I decided to share this post because it features a different organ and we've taken slightly different interpretative stances for parts of it. Both are great, but each is its own take.
I saw Virgil play live at St. Paul's in Toronto - what a treat! And what a showman!! He made the organ look fun. He had a real flair for pleasing the crowds with his music. Yea Virgil!
I really enjoy the chance this piece gives to show off the pedals to guests at my house - there are not one, but two pedal solos, both with two independent lines in the feet. This is not a difficult piece, but it sure does impress the non-organists in the crowd!! |
