Description:
François-Clément Théodore Dubois (24 August 1837 – 11 June 1924) was a French composer, organist and music teacher.

He was choirmaster at the Madeleine from 1868 before moving to replace Franck as choirmaster at St Clotilde in 1871. He succeeded Saint-Saens as organist at the Madeleine in 1877.

From 1871 he taught at the Paris Conservatoire, becoming director from 1896 - 1905.

This lovely piece comes from Sept Pieces pour Orgue (1898). A copy of the score can be seen here: http://hz.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/7/7a/IMSLP129890-WIMA.c0f0-Dubois_2.Cantilene.pdf Although I used one out of a book I had which had no indications to tempo or registrations etc.

I chose to play the right hand on the Choir Clarinet and the Left Hand on Swell Flutes and Celestes. The pedals are Contrabass and Bourdon.

The last few bars should be played with left hand for the chords, but I couldn't let such dissonance go to waste on Flutes that were meant to decrescendo so I played them on the Clarinet.

Hope you enjoy.
