Hévíz has a peat-based warm water lake that is unique in Europe. This lake is the base of the spas of Hévíz, which is a well-known and popular tourist destination worldwide. The spa was already known in Roman times, and it still provides a living for the city's residents. During the communist era, there was only one small church in Héviz, which did not satisfy the needs of the city's residents and tourists, but the city's management did not allow the expansion of the church.
