William James Ross (b. 1937) — Prelude (1980) for organ
William James Ross (b. 1937) was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Trinity University and the University of Michigan. He studied composition with Ross Lee Finney and Leslie Bassett and organ with Marilyn Mason and Donald Willing. He has been active as a freelance composer and performer, and has held organist and choir director positions for a number of churches in Texas. As a composer, he has written works in many forms, including numerous chamber, choral, and organ works.
